Import Solana Wallet But Address Changed

Hi all,

I recently had a weird situation and I’d like to ask the community why, your feedback will be very helpful for me to understand how the wallet works.

So previously I tried phantom and solflare, they both worked great. And when I’m importing from one wallet to another using 12-seed phrase, they worked perfectly, and the address is exactly the same as before.

But recently, when I created a Helium Wallet, I tried to import its 24-seed phrase into Phantom, it just showed a brand new wallet address, something like this:

Helium Wallet Address: AieeXXXXXXXX

Phantom (imported using 24-seed): Aoh8XXXXXXX

I have double checked the imported phrase, they’re the same. I’m curious to understand why this importing process is not the same as I did previously and how come these addresses look differently.
