The old station stood like a forgotten relic from another time. The platform, cracked and overgrown with ivy, seemed to hum with secrets long buried. Amelia had heard the stories, of course. The station was said to be a gateway, though no one could agree on what it led to. Some called it Avalon, others claimed it was a lost world, a place between realms. But for Amelia, it was just a curiosity, something to explore during one of her spontaneous midnight walks.

She had always been drawn to places like this, places with a sense of history, where every shadow seemed to whisper and every gust of wind felt like a message from the past. The train door swung open with a creak, and she boarded. Inside, the atmosphere was like stepping into a dream. The seats were upholstered in velvet, golden chandeliers hung from the ceiling, and the air smelled faintly of lavender and old books. But it was the passengers that caught Amelia’s attention. They sat in pairs, speaking in hushed tones, their faces blurred, as though they were not entirely present in the moment.

“Where are we going?” Amelia asked the conductor as he led her to a seat.

“Avalon,” he replied, his smile unreadable.

As the train began to move, the world outside the windows began to blur, the trees, fields, and buildings melting into a swirl of colors. Amelia looked out the window, a strange peace settling over her. In that moment, she realized she was on the last train, a journey that only a few ever had the chance to make.
