Truly Fair and random jackpot for a solana

Hi, I’m a software engineer, and I’ve always been curious about creating my own token. So, I decided to give it a shot this weekend.

It’s called SnoopPot. I added a percentage fee to each transaction, which goes into a pot and is awarded in a lottery-style system every hour.

To keep the jackpot fair, we rely on solana block hashes. Here’s how it works:

• We specify a future block slot that hasn’t been created yet
• When that block slot is created, we use its hash to determine the lottery winner
• Because nobody can know the exact contents of a future block in advance, it’s extremely difficult and very expensive to manipulate the outcome

I’m not super optimistic about the project, but it was a nice weekend side project to learn more about crypto and solana.
