After 1 entire year of trading Solana shitcoins and watching countless degens get obliterated, I can tell you this: Your biggest enemy isn’t the market – it’s your own psychology.

And of course – you end up holding to 0.

After losing more money than I’d care to admit, I discovered two distinct types of stop losses that helped me survive the brutal Solana memecoin battlefield:

1. Static Stop Loss: The Bouncer

This is your first line of defense. Like a club bouncer, it kicks out any trade that drops below your predetermined threshold. Simple, but essential.

Example setup:

• Entry: 1 SOL = 100,000 $WIF
• Static stop: -20% from entry
• Maximum loss: 0.2 SOL

But here’s where most degens mess up – they set it and forget it. Or worse, they manually move it lower when price drops. “Just a bit more room to breathe” is usually code for “please take all my money.”

2. Trailing Stop Loss: The Bodyguard

This is where it gets interesting. A trailing stop follows the price up like a personal bodyguard, protecting your unrealized gains.

• Price pumps to 2x
• Trailing stop set at 20% below peak
