Redditor Asks How His Newly Created Coin can have a Market Cap of 6K at launch, Reddit Sends it to $4m

Redditor u/rifts created $OUWC (Official Unoffical World Coin) as a joke and was the only buyer for $50. He posted to the Solana subreddit in a now deleted post asking how the MC could be $6k from just a $50 buy and Reddit proceeded to pump the token to $4m.

OUWC has since settled around 700k and u/rifts has locked his supply for 6 months after hosting an X Space attended by 500 people and lasting several hours. What apparently begun as an innocent question has become something of a Reddit movement with shades of Unicorn Fart Dust which currently sits at $129MC (ATH of $428m).

Whether OUWC can replicate the success of $UFD remains to be seen but the power of Reddit can’t be underestimated. During the space Rifts committed to supporting OUWC going forward including with a website and social accounts and crypto veterans have reached out to provide expertise and guidance.

I’ve bought a small amount as I think there’s only upside from this level, it will be fun to watch how this unfolds either way.
