Qubic: Exploring a New Paradigm in Decentralized Computing and AI

I’ve been looking into Qubic lately and it seems like a pretty interesting project, so I wanted to share some of my impressions and see what the community thinks.

Core Innovation: Qubic is defined as an innovative crypto platform that uses a Proof of Useful Work (UPoW) system, meaning that computational power is directed to productive tasks, such as training artificial neural networks (ANNs) for Aigarth. Unlike traditional blockchains, Qubic seeks to align miners’ incentives with the advancement of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

Architecture and Consensus: Qubic is based on a Quorum protocol, where 676 Computers (Validators) are responsible for executing transactions, smart contracts and securing the blockchain. To ensure reliability, a Quorum of ⅔+ is required.

Aigarth: At the heart of the Qubic ecosystem is Aigarth, an AI that runs on top of Qubic and draws information from thousands of AI miners who create billions of artificial neural networks (ANNs) with their computational power. The goal is to create an open source, public AI for everyone.

Smart Contracts: Smart contracts in Qubic are written in C++ and run directly on hardware, enabling optimized performance without the overhead of virtual machines. In addition, each smart contract must go through a proposal vote by the Quorum, which prevents the protocol from being flooded with useless or shady smart contracts.

Commission-free transactions: A distinctive feature of Qubic is commission-free transactions and asset transfers.

Deflationary Tokenomics: Qubic has implemented an issuance model that includes a token burning mechanism. This mechanism permanently removes coins from circulation, increasing the scarcity of QUBIC. In addition, funds spent in the Dutch auction to obtain shares of smart contracts are burned, benefiting all holders of $QUBIC.
