A female zebra foal at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Sri Racha District, Chonburi Province, where the zoo organized an activity for the public to vote on a name. More than 2,449 children and tourists voted. The result was that the name that received the most votes was “Lai Thai”.

Today (March 20, 2025), Mr. Narongwit Chodchoi, Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, revealed that after Khao Kheow Open Zoo received a new member, a female zebra foal, and opened for visitors to experience its cuteness on November 6, 2024, there was also a special activity for tourists to join in the fun of voting on the name of the zebra foal. There are 2 names to choose from: Ma Ho or Lai Thai. Vote via the Khao Kheow Open Zoo Facebook page. By organizing a lucky draw to win 16-inch “Moo Deng” dolls, 3 prizes, and a single ticket to travel everywhere, 10 prizes, with children, youths, and tourists nationwide joining in voting for the zebra’s name, totaling more than 2,449 votes. Mr. Narongwit said that the name that received the most votes was “Lai Thai”, which the zoo randomly selected from those who voted for the name Lai Thai. The winners of the 16-inch “Moo Deng” dolls were Ms. Piyanuch Kwannui, Ms. Phatthiya Siwaraphinan, Ms. Thitima Suphaphak, and the single ticket to travel everywhere, 10 prizes, were Ms. Boonrit Nuchthongkham, Ms. Phasakon Ritthathip, Ms. Pornthip Phiphitphonphong, Ms. Wanida Phusa, Ms. Prateep Chanphae, Ms. Sawangwong Kruphat, Ms. Sirintra Phochai, Mr. Paphinwit Puangngam, Mr. Santi Phonsuk, Mr. Panjapol Traphthawicharoen.
