Chips is an actual giraffe that was gifted to Charles Hoskinson by the President of South Africa at the time, Cyril Ramaphosa. Chips currently resides on a ranch named Phala Phala.
His name is Chips because the giraffe loves potato chips – this has been confirmed by Charles.
But here’s the best part.
At some point in time, Chips was even considered to be Cardano’s mascot and you can find some talks of this in the Reddit and forums. So this could very well have been THE Cardano mascot.
We haven’t even seen a picture of Chips, even though Charles regularly says on camera that he receives pictures of him. But guess what – he already talked about Chips live many times.
