The crypto world is full of stories, some uplifting, others frustrating, and occasionally disheartening. Today, I’m sharing something that falls into the latter category, but it’s also an opportunity to reaffirm what Crypto Mafia ($CMAFIA) stands for and why we’re doing what we’re doing. What HappenedYesterday, we experienced a targeted and coordinated attack from another project I was previously involved with. To clarify, I was never part of their core development team. My role was as a moderator and I poured my blood sweat and tears into it for weeks, deploying raids everyday, for sometimes 6-8 hours straight. While I supported their community, I also had a front-row seat to how things were being handled behind the scenes. Unfortunately, I saw enough to know they weren’t doing the right things by their community. I approached their team multiple times, suggesting ways to instil trust and build a stronger bond with their holders, such as doing more live VC’s etc and I also tried to talk to them about other marketing initiatives. My suggestions were always ignored and so were the suggestions of other people on the mod/marketing team. Over time, it became clear to me that their focus wasn’t aligned with the values I believe in. The community needed more than “kool-aid” hype and being farmed to do all of the hard work while the dev sat back. It needed solid leadership, proper marketing and more effort from the dev. That’s why I decided to step away and I did so very quietly. I didn’t make a fuss and I still did things for the community including designing artwork for their merch comp (which I won and for the record I never received merch, as I was never asked for my mailing details). I also still included them when I talked about what memecoins I was holding and kept their ticker in my X bio until a few days ago. Eventually, why Crypto Mafia was born and I will get to how that happened further down. Ongoing AttacksThis isn’t the first time this team has tried to undermine me. Over the past few days, they’ve been verbally bashing me in their own community chat. When members ask where I’ve gone, they tell them I abandoned the project and go on to say unkind and often unfounded things about me. Yesterday, their developer came into our Crypto Mafia community chat, making passive-aggressive remarks about our project. Later, they sent me a private message. I responded calmly and respectfully, assuring them that we meant no ill will. I even told them that we were still holding all of our tokens from their project and would continue to hold them. I wished them success and mentioned that there’s enough room in the space for everyone to succeed. Their response? They refused to read my message and threatened to block me if I dared to respond again. Meanwhile, in their chat, they’ve continued spreading rumors, claiming I’m going to rug our project and urging their community to just wait and see. Until an hour ago, I was still holding their tokens. But after today’s targeted attack, I decided to sell. I no longer want to have anything to do with a project that would try to sabotage ours and attack me personally. I quietly observed the chat over the last couple of weeks and saw people wondering where I was. My DM’s were also filled with people asking the same question. I just told them I was focusing on family. Over the past week the narrative from the devs about my absence had turned from “she’s still here, she’s focusing on real life”, to pure hatred and venom. My Stance on Their ProjectUntil early this morning, I was still holding their tokens, despite everything. I had chosen to hold because I believed in separating my personal disagreements from the community of holders who had invested their trust in that project. I promised the community I would hold and I fully intended to do so. However, during and after the attack, their dev team was actively spreading rumors in their community, claiming that I had abandoned them, dumped my tokens, and was no longer aligned with their project. These statements were completely untrue. After yesterday’s targeted attack and seeing their continued efforts to undermine me personally and sabotage Crypto Mafia, I made the decision to sell my holdings. I no longer want to be associated with a project whose team resorts to such tactics and treats people this way. I sold at a low, which completely goes against my normal strategy, but I couldn’t stay involved any longer. I made a nice profit from my initial investment and I am happy with that. To the other projects community: I am sorry I could not keep holding, but please know I held for as long as I could for you all and it saddens me that it had to come to this. Why Crypto Mafia Was BornThe toxicity and lawlessness I witnessed in this space is precisely why Crypto Mafia exists. The memecoin world is full of rug pulls, community farming, and devs exploiting their communities for personal gain. We joked one day that someone needed to bring in the Mafia to clean up the meme coin underworld, and from that joke, Crypto Mafia was born. But this isn’t just a gimmick. We’re committed to doing things differently:
We started this project to create a space where people could feel safe, valued, and empowered. We’re not just building a token; we’re building a community that does things right. A Call for Diplomacy and PositivityI’m sharing this not to start a war, but to set the record straight. I have no interest in being in conflict with the other project or its team. I’ve seen enough negativity in this space, and I don’t want to contribute to it. That said, I believe it’s important to be transparent about what’s happened, especially since it directly affected our community. If you’re reading this and you’re part of that other project, I hold no ill will toward you. I hope that project succeeds for the sake of its community. At Crypto Mafia, we’re staying focused on what matters:
Moving ForwardTo the members of the Crypto Mafia Family: thank you for standing by us during this bump in the road. This attack was unfortunate, but it won’t derail what we’re building. We’ve already set up a new Telegram chat, and we’re continuing with our mission to create something truly different in the memecoin space. To everyone else: this situation highlights why transparency and ethics are so important in crypto. If a project isn’t prioritizing its community, if it’s spreading FUD about others, or if it’s farming its holders for personal gain, it’s worth questioning their intentions. We’re here to prove that it doesn’t have to be that way. Crypto can be better, and we’re dedicated to being part of that change. Thank you for your time and your trust. submitted by /u/Memecoin_Queen |
