Snake wif Hat (SSSSS): A Lesson in Community Farming, Exit Liquidity, and Abandonment

Introduction

In the wild west of Solana meme coins, Snake wif Hat (SSSSS) had all the ingredients to succeed: a fun premise, a strong initial marketing push, and an enthusiastic community. For a brief, shining moment, it looked like it might be the next breakout meme token.

And then, as quickly as it rose, it started to crumble.

From cutting the marketing team to a toxic community meltdown to the original creators quietly moving on, SSSSS has become a textbook example of how meme coins can collapse under their own mismanagement.

The Rise: When SSSSS Was Actually Flying

When SSSSS launched, it had:
A coordinated marketing strategy that kept engagement high
A community pushing hard to make “snakes cute again”
A Telegram group buzzing with new buyers and meme energy

With all these factors in place, the token pumped to an all-time high of $0.0048, driven by aggressive shilling and FOMO-fueled buying.

For a while, it seemed like SSSSS might have real staying power.

The Fall: How to Kill a Meme Coin in Three Easy Steps

Then, a series of disastrous decisions sent SSSSS into a tailspin:

Step 1: Fire the Marketing Team Mid-Momentum

The first major mistake was removing the very team responsible for the project’s success. Marketing is the lifeblood of meme coins—without constant engagement, new buyers stop coming in, and momentum dies.

Rather than adjusting and fixing the situation, SSSSS tried a mix of inconsistent, half-baked marketing tactics that lacked the focus of their original strategy.

As a result, the price started sliding, and community morale took a hit.

Step 2: Let the Community Destroy Itself

As the project struggled, the Telegram group turned toxic.

  • New buyers were asking questions about the prjoect, and were mocked instead of welcomed.
  • Anyone questioning the project was accused of spreading FUD.
  • Blame shifted to external enemies (“haters” and “rival communities”) rather than internal mismanagement.

Instead of fostering a fun, meme-driven environment, the group became a cesspool of hostility and immaturity. DIck measuring tools and toxic masculinity from a group of ironically un-masculine children within the Telegram chat ostracised female supporters and make those who were looking for a viable business venture to get behind scratch their heads with where this pproject was going, and who was driving it.

Eventually, Telegram banned the group outright.

While some claimed this was due to “attacks from rival communities,” the reality was far simpler—it was a community that had spiraled into such toxicity that its removal was inevitable, and was reported from within.

Step 3: The Founders Quietly Abandon Ship

Perhaps the most telling sign of SSSS’s fate is that its original creators—the “Pepe Wizards”—have quite clearly moved on.

Rather than working to restore momentum or support the struggling community, they’ve seemingly shifted their focus to other projects, leaving SSSSS holders to fend for themselves.

Previous articles posted a couple of months ago when snakes was performing oh so much better highlighted the issues:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Solana_Memes/comments/1hy58pf/analysis_of_a_potential_slow_rug_scam_solana_coin/

https://www.reddit.com/r/Solana_Memes/comments/1hy5e3q/analysis_of_a_potential_slow_rug_scam_solana_coin/

and back then the blind support was real, as can be seen in the comments – however it was real futile in the end.

Since those posts, SSSSS has tumbled from a $5,000,000 MC to $329,000 MC as we speak at the time Snakes was already down 89% from it’s all time high, and it’s tumbled from it’s 5 million position to be now 93% below that.

So in total from it’s all time high, Snakes is sitting at a LOSS of market cap of 99.3% – Just think about how much that is for a second – this coin would literally have to go 160x to hit that level again..

At this point, SSSSS isn’t just floundering—it’s an abandoned ship.

Community Farming vs. Exit Liquidity: The Final Phase

Even after the marketing was gutted, the Telegram was banned, and the creators moved on, the remaining community still pushed forward.

But at this stage, their efforts were only benefiting the people who had already given up.

  • Early buyers who saw the writing on the wall were already selling – myself included.
  • Any short-term pumps were just exit opportunities for larger holders.
  • With no new marketing and no leadership, the token became a slow, inevitable bleed downward.

What started as a vibrant, community-driven effort had now turned into a classic exit liquidity trap.

The SSSSS Market Reality

As of today, SSSSS trades at approximately $0.000359, with a market cap of around $357,277—a massive drop from its peak.

Despite continued efforts from a handful of loyal holders, the numbers tell the truth: the Pepe Wizards have moved on, the hype has died, and the only ones left are those still hoping for a miracle pump.

The Takeaway: A Masterclass in Mismanagement

The fall of SSSSS wasn’t bad luck—it was self-inflicted.

  1. Marketing is EVERYTHING. Once the original team was removed, the project was doomed.
  2. A toxic community will kill a project faster than a bear market. Instead of welcoming new buyers, the Telegram turned into a gatekeeping, hostile, immature, immaturely sexualised environment.
  3. If the creators move on, so should you. The Pepe Wizards aren’t looking back—so why should anyone else?
  4. Without new buyers, every pump is just an exit strategy. Those still pushing the project forward are simply providing liquidity for the people cashing out.

So, Will SSSSS Ever Pump Again?

The only thing that could revive SSSSS is:
A fresh, aggressive marketing team
A community reset with actual leadership – a proper CTO
A major influencer push or viral moment

But let’s be real—if the original creators don’t care anymore, why should anyone else?

For now, SSSSS is just another meme coin that had potential, fumbled the bag, and got left behind.

The snake didn’t just lose its hat—it lost its entire head.
