I don’t get why they do this

I don’t understand why when somebody’s coin gets popular and starts growing huge that the devs decided they want to take profits and just kill the chart. I don’t get why they want to kill something that could go so much higher Robin Hood for example hit 1 million and they took profits and shot it down to 30 million. do they need that bad regardless if they did why not take smaller profits throughout the day instead of all at once like an asshole
