Airdrops make sense for projects?

I was wondering if doing airdrops really makes sense for projects on Solana.

Don’t get me wrong, but spending 0.002 SOL per wallet it’s expensive af for making a huge airdrop.

For sure it’s useful in terms of marketing, but why wouldn’t you make a claim site, it’s much cheaper and efficient?

Even more, it’s also cheap, you can hire a dev or do it without coding with no-code platforms like Smithii.
