The ticketing market is like a Cruel summer, we know it all too well. Ticketmaster is down bad and will not improve. This is me trying to introduce you to onchain tickets by OPEN. Be enchanted. They can fix it (no really they can).
Imagine this: You’ve finally managed to buy $500 tickets to your favorite artist, let’s say it’s Taylor Swift (very likely). You’re very hyped and in the week of the concert, your ticket becomes available in the Ticketmaster app and what do you see? Just a regular PDF like you receive for any other artist. This immediately stopped my hype for a part. But it can be much better. With #onchain tickets, there are a lot more possibilities. After the event you receive a commemorative NFT with endless possibilites.
Some previous usecases:
- They can be updated in the metadata to a picture of the event
- They can be updated with the final score of the sports match like and a picture of the Man of the Match
- They can include a part of the newly released song with. (or a snippet with a preview of an album
All of these are cool, but the best part is that the EO can use these NFT’s to give access to special things like: exclusive merch, early access to tickets etc. THIS is were the true power of onchain tickets come in. You can’t properly do this with a PDF.
